Jo Anderson has been an exhibiting painter since 1987, and a professional drawing instructor in the pacific northwest since 1994.
In her early years she was an avid sketcher and part-time artist, but in the late 80s she was given an opportunity to be mentored by and model for renowned west coast professor and painter Terry Johnson of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. Her years spent in his classroom and studio gave Jo the confidence to pursue her own full-time career in figurative art where she continues to create and pass her knowledge onto others to this day.
Jo is based in Anacortes, WA. For inquiries on classes or purchasing artwork feel free to reach out via the contact form here or email her directly at joanderson297@gmail.com

I have always been drawn to the way light on the female form, specifically natural light, can highlight the authenticity of each individual. I create imagery that represents my own thoughts and feelings in a given period of life that are a truthful representation of being human.
The only way I’ve found
redemption in life is to do the artwork and teach the artwork.
